Welcome to Fairborn, Ohio
Your friendly local guide to the restaurants, services, and community that make Fairborn home — the only city in the world named Fairborn.
A hometown with a story
Fairborn was born on January 1, 1950, when two neighboring villages — Fairfield and Osborn — decided to join together. Put their names side by side and you get “Fair-born.” That is a fitting name for a town built by neighbors coming together, and it is a story we are still living out today.
Today about 34,500 people call Fairborn home. We sit in Greene County, just outside Dayton, right next door to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. We are proud to be home to Wright State University and more than 1,100 acres of parks and nature preserves. And as far as anyone can tell, we are the only city in the world named Fairborn.
This guide is here to help neighbors and newcomers alike find the good people, good food, and good places that make this community what it is.
